Our 2 week trip to Carinthia, Slovenia and Italy was wonderful. We visited our families, ate lots of pasta, went hiking and spent a day at the beach. We spent the first couple of days with my mum, mostly hiking and laughing. She’s able to make incredible things out of nothing, like this “natural dog’s collar” which Rizzo was proud to wear (we thought he looked so cute wearing his “halo”!). She also made this wonderful floral wreath which I wore one afternoon.
After spending a day at the river Soča in Slovenia and visiting the Gorisča Brda ( which is one of the most important wine producing microregions in Slovenia), we drove back to Italy and had the best ice cream at the Gelateria Al Duomo in Cividale.
On the next day we went to the Laghi di Fusine in Italy for a short hike around the 2 lakes. It was beautiful and very calm there.
